| Angela Edmonds
Angela
Edmonds considers herself an impressionist painter of animals.
Her paintings are loose with bold values with the idea of bringing the
animal to life. Using her background as a filmmaker, she places her
subjects in the frame as if she were shooting a scene in a movie. Angela
believes a painting should be noticed know matter what size and read
from across a room.
As a child Angela had lived in the bush of Alaska
and rural Minnesota. This is where she learned the appreciation of wildlife.
Angela received her BA in Fine Art from the California Institute of
the Arts in California. She started her career as a layout artist for
Walt Disney Feature Animation and gradually transformed into a fine
artist.
She started
to paint in oil to refresh her creative energy as a filmmaker. A few
years ago she started to release her paintings for sale. Her subject
matter is her ranch animals and whatever wildlife wonders onto her ranch
that she shares with her husband and menagerie of animals. The paintings
of more exotic animals are from her trips to Alaska and abroad.
Angela Edmonds presently owns and operates Edmonds Studios Animation
with her husband Russ Edmonds. It is located in northern California
a short distance from San Francisco. Angela is a producer of children's
programs and also creates original concepts for commercial television.
She uses almost every art medium to convey her ideas, however, oil is
her medium of choice for painting fine art.
Russ Edmonds
Russ
Edmonds was a Supervising Animator for Walt Disney Studios Animation
for many years, working on classic movies such as The Little Mermaid,
Beauty And The Beast, and The Lion King. He is the founder and creator
of Edmonds Studios Animation. In his free time he likes to work with
pastels.
Russ's style is rough and raw to capture a moment in time, much like
animation. His pastels come to life through movement. Most of his work
is based around his ranch where he lives and one of his favorite sports,
Cutting. Cutting is a sport that involves horses and cattle. If you
watch the sport of Cutting the movement is like a ballet between the
horse and the rider and the cow. This subject is perfect for his style
and medium.
